A few hours west in northern NSW the landscape changes dramatically. No white sandy beaches with blue water, rolling green hills or mountainous forests, just flat, dry, space. The trees are different, tough, created to survive on little water. They provide shelter for the few animals in this area, usually cattle, sheep, goats and of course kangaroos. On a hot day (which is most of the year) a mirage appears on the horizon. I kinda like it out west. There's a certain freedom to that vast expanse of flat land.
