The divine smell of freshly baked croissants and freshly brewed coffee first thing on a Sunday morning is something not to be missed. And even better still, savouring the taste while relaxing and enjoying the fresh air and atmosphere of a country market.
Chris and Liz Wellard, and their daughter Lucy, make up the dynamic team of Wellard's Artisan Bakehouse. Using locally sourced organic flour from Woods Organic Flour Mill, Chris makes all pastries by hand. He is also well known for his organic sourdough bread that is sold (very quickly) at Funki Munki in Inverell. And of course, the coffee. Boutique roasted, and I have to say, some of the best coffee I've tasted.
You'll find the Wellard's mobile food stall at the Inverell Markets on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month and Armidale Markets on the last Sunday of the month. Ham and cheese croissants, almond croissants, chocolate croissants, rhubarb crumble danish, caramelised fig and ricotta danish.....oh, my mouth is watering now......and of course something specially hand made by Liz for the kids, a Gingerbread Man.
I had the pleasure of creating photos for Wellard's Artisan Bakehouse at both Inverell and Armidale markets. They required professional photography to suit their brand and to use on social media. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram to see their latest hand made creations, and be sure to try some of their delicious food at the markets, you won't be disappointed!
